Stone Island SS17 Type RE-T Jeans

Stone Island Type RE-T Jeans from the SS17 collection. The ‘RE-T’ designation stands for Regular Tapered, a fit directly inspired by historical workwear uniforms. The design balances roominess around the hips and thighs (allowing for physical labor and ease of movement) with a neat taper at the lower leg so the fabric wouldn’t drag or get caught on heavy machinery or boots. The heavy-duty tobacco contrast stitching is a nod to traditional, rugged railroad and factory workwear. The dark, deep indigo wash is meant to mirror the traditional raw denim worn by 19th-century naval sailors, designed to weather and age uniquely depending on the wearer's environment.
