During 1998, this piece was a perfect mix of high-tier Italian technical design and the booming British subcultures - such as the UK Terrace and Garage scenes that adopted the brand. The bold, un-missable STONE ISLAND block text on the leg was a departure from the classic sleeve badge, purposefully designed for maximum visibility in coastal environments. These shorts came from the Paul Harvey era, who took over after Osti’s departure from Stone Island. Harvey is well known for his clean utilitarian edge whilst still keeping the brands core Industrial & experimental roots.
