Vintage Cold Weather Military Pants from the 1970s. In the 1970’s, the military stepped away from full wool garments and started engineering nylon cotton blends. This was drive. by the harsh realities of the Korean War and late Vietnam War monsoons, 1970s cold-weather trousers were designed to block wind, repel water and trap heat using button-in or quilted thermal liners.
