Stone Island Lined Nylam Jacket from the AW1998 collection. During this era, legendary Stone Island designer Paul Harvey focused heavily on re-engineering utilitarian gear into futuristic, industrial garments. Inspired by a blend of submarine & Naval Deck gear, traditional English hunting jackets & old military paratrooper gear. The Nylam fabric itself was inspired by industrial rubberised protective gear. By bonding nylon with a specialised matte finish, Harvey achieved a heavy, textured shell that looked like a rugged canvas but performed like high-tech armour.
