Stone Island Heavy Rib Fleece Knit Sweater from the AW95 collection - Paul Harvey design. The vertical lines running down the body are inspired by panel tailoring found in heavy-duty military and functional workwear. Instead of knitting a traditional uniform torso, the sweater is engineered out of distinct vertical panels. This was historically done to allow easier movement, reinforcement and structural stability in garments built for harsh conditions. The chunky, heavyweight composition and the rolled, slightly raw edges of the hem and collar draw directly from traditional naval knitwear worn by sailors.
