Nigel Cabourn Authentic Linen Waistcoat from the SS14 collection. An iconic silhouette, inspired by George Mallory’s tragic 1924 British Mount Everest Expedition. Mallory famously did not wear any technical fabrics during his expedition. In fact, he wore a layered 3 piece tailored military issue suit made from heavy wool Tweed. Cabourn frequently released different versions of the Mallory over the seasons. This specific summer collection stripped away the traditional tweed for Linen and lighter fabrics instead. Cabourn aimed for a more utility rugged workwear look rather than traditional mountaineering tweed, whilst still keeping the 1920’s silhouette.
